Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the following apps:

  • Nine-To-Five
  • UniGrade

In the following, these apps are collectively referred to as the “Apps”.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation is:

techfinity – Christian Kegelmann
Eschersheimer Landstraße 178
60320 Frankfurt

Phone: +49 172 6656745
Email: christian@techfinity.de

If you have any questions about data protection, you can contact us at any time using the email address provided above.

2. General Principle

The protection of your data is important to us. Our Apps are designed to process as little personal data as possible.

The Apps use:

  • no advertising networks,
  • no tracking,
  • no analytics or statistics services,
  • no own servers for storing or analyzing your app data,
  • no transfer of your app data for advertising or marketing purposes.

The data entered or generated in the Apps is generally stored locally on your device. If iCloud synchronization is enabled, this data may also be synchronized between your devices via Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit services.

3. What Data Is Processed?

Depending on the app and how it is used, the following data may be processed.

3.1 Nine-To-Five

In the Nine-To-Five app, the following data in particular may be processed:

  • working hours,
  • start and end times,
  • break times,
  • corrections and manual entries,
  • notes on workdays,
  • settings for working hours, breaks, maximum working time and notifications,
  • status information for widgets, Apple Watch and Live Activities,
  • information about whether the Pro version has been unlocked.

This data is used to provide the app’s functions, in particular working time calculation, history, export, widgets, Apple Watch display, Live Activities and local reminders.

3.2 UniGrade

In the UniGrade app, the following data in particular may be processed:

  • degree programs,
  • courses,
  • assessments and assessment types,
  • credits, semesters, categories and course icons,
  • grades, average grades, GPA values and normalized assessment values,
  • weightings of assessments,
  • pass/fail status of assessments,
  • open, started and completed assessments,
  • due dates and deadlines,
  • notes on courses or assessments,
  • settings for grading systems, rounding rules and custom grading scales,
  • information on study progress and credit progress,
  • status information for Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets,
  • status information for App Shortcuts and App Intents,
  • information about whether UniGrade Pro has been unlocked,
  • exported data if you deliberately create a CSV or PDF export.

This data is used to provide the app’s functions, in particular the management of degree programs, courses and assessments, the calculation of grades, GPA and study progress, the display of statistics, deadlines, widgets and App Shortcuts, as well as export and synchronization functions.

4. Local Storage on the Device

The Apps store data locally on your device. This local storage is necessary so that the Apps can provide their functions.

Depending on the app, you can delete the stored data within the app or remove it by deleting the app from your device. Please note that if iCloud synchronization is enabled, data may also be stored in your iCloud and may need to be removed separately there.

5. iCloud and CloudKit

The Apps may use Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit services to synchronize app data between your devices.

The synchronized data is stored in your private iCloud database. We do not operate our own server for this purpose and do not analyze this data. Processing via iCloud and CloudKit is carried out by Apple within the scope of the Apple services you use and your Apple ID.

Whether iCloud is used for the app depends on your device settings, your Apple ID and your iCloud settings.

6. Widgets, Apple Watch, Live Activities, App Shortcuts and App Intents

Some Apps may provide information for widgets, Apple Watch, Live Activities, App Shortcuts or App Intents. In this case, selected status data is transferred locally between the app, widget, Apple Watch, Live Activity or operating system function.

Depending on the app, this may include, for example:

  • current status,
  • progress,
  • relevant time information,
  • current working time information,
  • study progress,
  • GPA or average grade,
  • next upcoming assessment or deadline,
  • information about whether a Pro version has been unlocked.

This data is used only to provide the respective display or system function. It is not used for analytics, advertising or tracking purposes.

7. Local Notifications

The Apps may use local notifications, for example reminders or alerts at specific times.

Local notifications are scheduled and triggered on your device. No transfer to our servers is required for this. You can disable notifications at any time in the iOS or watchOS settings.

8. In-App Purchases

Some Apps may offer in-app purchases, for example a Pro version.

In-app purchases are processed via the App Store and Apple. We do not receive payment data such as credit card information or bank details. The app may only process information about whether a purchase was successful and whether certain functions have been unlocked.

Apple’s privacy policy and terms of use also apply to the processing of payments and the management of your purchases.

9. Export Functions

Some Apps may offer export functions, for example a CSV or PDF export.

An export is created only by your deliberate action. You decide yourself whether and with whom you share an exported file. We do not receive a copy of this exported data.

In UniGrade, exported files may in particular contain degree programs, courses, assessments, credits, grades, GPA values and other study data entered or calculated by you.

10. Support Requests

If you contact us by email or via another contact method, we process the contact details and content of your message provided by you in order to respond to your request.

This may include:

  • email address,
  • name, if provided,
  • content of your message,
  • technical information that you voluntarily provide to us,
  • app version, if provided automatically or manually.

This data is used exclusively to process your request.

11. Purposes of Processing

We process data for the following purposes:

  • providing the app functions,
  • storing your settings and app content,
  • calculating working hours, grades, GPA, credits and progress,
  • synchronization via iCloud, where used,
  • displaying widgets, Apple Watch content, Live Activities, App Shortcuts and App Intents,
  • scheduling local notifications,
  • providing in-app purchases,
  • creating exports at your request,
  • processing support requests,
  • troubleshooting and technical improvement of the Apps.

12. Legal Bases

Depending on the purpose, processing is carried out on the basis of the following legal bases:

  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, insofar as the processing is necessary to provide the app functions.
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, insofar as the processing is necessary for technical stability, troubleshooting or processing support requests. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and reliable provision of the Apps.
  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, insofar as processing is based on your consent, for example for certain optional functions or permissions.
  • Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, insofar as we are legally obliged to process data.

13. Recipients of Data

Your app data is not transferred to third parties for advertising, analytics or tracking purposes.

Depending on your use, data may be processed by the following parties:

  • Apple, insofar as you use the App Store, iCloud, CloudKit, in-app purchases, Apple Watch, widgets, Live Activities, App Shortcuts, App Intents or operating system functions.
  • Email providers, insofar as you contact us by email.

We do not operate our own servers for storing or analyzing your app data.

14. International Data Transfers

When using Apple services such as iCloud, CloudKit or the App Store, data may be processed by Apple. This may involve processing outside your country or outside the European Union. Apple is responsible for this processing insofar as Apple provides the respective services.

When contacting us by email, processing outside your country or outside the European Union may also take place depending on the email provider used.

15. Storage Period

Data stored locally in the app remains stored until you delete it within the app, remove the app, or the data is otherwise deleted through app functions.

Data synchronized via iCloud remains stored in your iCloud for as long as it exists there and is not deleted by you or by the app.

Exported files remain stored wherever you save or share them.

We store support requests only for as long as necessary to process your request and for any follow-up questions, unless statutory retention obligations prevent deletion.

16. Permissions

Depending on the function, the Apps may request certain permissions, for example:

  • notifications,
  • access to iCloud functions,
  • Apple Watch or widget functions,
  • App Shortcuts or App Intents,
  • access to sharing or export functions of the operating system.

You can change or revoke permissions at any time in the iOS or watchOS settings. If you disable permissions, certain functions may be limited.

17. No Advertising, No Tracking, No Analytics

The Apps do not use advertising platforms, tracking SDKs or analytics tools. No data is used to track you across apps or websites of other providers.

18. No Automated Decision-Making

There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

Automatically calculated values such as working hours, grades, GPA, credits or progress indicators are used exclusively for app functionality and have no legal effect on you.

19. Your Rights

Subject to the legal requirements, you have the following rights:

  • right of access to the personal data concerning you,
  • right to rectification of inaccurate data,
  • right to erasure,
  • right to restriction of processing,
  • right to data portability,
  • right to object to certain processing,
  • right to withdraw consent given with effect for the future,
  • right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise your rights, you can contact us using the contact address provided above.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the Apps, legal requirements or technical processes change. The current version is available via the URL provided in the app or in the App Store.
